you have wondered Coaches, where all the skills have gone... The
camp will feature the return and emphasis of skill development
for young players.
will be a new format where campers will have the advantage of
playing a minimum of 8 games during the course of the camp as
well as being exposed to the fundamentals. It will be a highly
concentrated 4 days of basketball. Our experienced coaching
staff allows campers to benefit from outstanding instruction at
any age level.
Since coming to RIT in 1983, Bob McVean has produced seven All-Americans and 49 All-Conference players. Craig Jones, RIT's career scoring leader, was named NCAA Player of the Year in 1996.
In 1995 McVean became the winningest coach in RIT history and has since surpassed 400 victories.
In 1997 RIT was 24-4 and competed in the NCAA Division III playoffs for the third straight time as the #1 team ranked in the East Region. The Tigers responded by advancing to the Sweet 16 round. The 24 wins marked the most ever by an RIT team since the program began in 1915.
In 2003 RIT was NY Upstate ECAC Champions. The Tigers have been to post season tournaments 16 consecutive years and have recorded 20 straight winning seasons.
McVean has been named Empire Eight Conference Coach of the Year seven times.
In October 2011, Coach McVean was inducted into the RIT Sports Hall of Fame.
In February 2013, Coach McVean won his 500th career win.
